Geraint – 2020

I really like the graphic nature of horned animals and wanted to twist another piece with dramatic horns.
After some online research and many sheep later, I was inspired by ancient and rare breeds of sheep with strong heads and wonderful spiral horns such as the Dorset Portland, the Castlemilk Moorit and the Welsh Balwen. They became the blue print for my latest twist.

I wanted to portray the rugged nature of farming and needed a base that reflected this. A while ago I had picked up an interesting chunk of wood which for many months had stood waiting for its time to come in our front garden. With its rough sawn exterior and rustic colouring it fitted the bill perfectly.
Why Geraint, well he was a sheep so he had to be Welsh didn’t he!
